🛫✨ ROME 🇮🇹 | MUST-DOs 💋

What to do?

As a basic bitch, I did exactly what you'd expect:

1. Colosseum, OF COURSE 🧱

2. Roman Forum & Palatine Hill 🌆

3. Trevi Fountain ⛲✨

‼️TIP: Skip the crowd, go into the clothing store right in front of the fountain and head to level 2. There’s a window inside with a perfect elevated view. WAYY less people, and no one blocking your shot 📸 + there’s air-con LOL I LOVED IT 💨

4. Spanish Steps 🪜

5. Pantheon 🕍

6. Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

- didn’t bother queuing for the mirror selfie, but absolutely worth a visit just to see the ceiling

6. Vatican City – A MUST!!!

- smallest country in the world leh

- St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel & the Vatican Museums

What to eat?

1. Pastaciutta 🍝

- A quick meal & budget-friendly

2. Al Tettarello Hostaria (near Colosseum) 🍴

- Classic Roman vibes, local feel, great service (they damm enthu) + full of locals

Zero regrets. 10/10 would romanticize my life here again 🍝🕊️🇮🇹

... Read moreWhen planning a trip to Rome, it’s helpful to know not just the popular landmarks but also the little gems that make the city special. Beyond the famed Colosseum and Vatican City, I recommend exploring the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill early in the morning to enjoy the ancient ruins without the overwhelming crowds. For a more immersive Roman experience, try visiting the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola to admire its breathtaking ceiling—a perfect blend of history and art. Also, don’t miss the Spanish Steps for a lively atmosphere where locals gather. On the culinary side, Roman cuisine is a delightful adventure. Pastaciutta is my go-to quick and affordable meal—simple yet flavorful pasta that captures the essence of local flavors. For a more authentic dining experience, Al Tettarello Hostaria near the Colosseum is fantastic; the service is warm and enthusiastic, and the place is packed with locals, which speaks volumes about its quality. Additionally, a great hidden tip for great views is to head to the clothing store opposite Trevi Fountain, then go up to the second level. The less crowded spot offers an elevated perspective of the fountain and a refreshing break with air conditioning—perfect for your photos and a cool pause during sightseeing. Rome is a city best savored slowly, so I would recommend pacing your itinerary to soak in both its historic grandeur and vibrant everyday life. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip, focusing on local culture through food and iconic sites will make your Roman holiday truly unforgettable.

2 Days in Rome 🏛️ This is what I'd do differently
I underestimated Rome. 🏛️🍕 I arrived ready to conquer the Eternal City, but I made some rookie mistakes that left me "shagged out" by day two. Rome is majestic, but the crowds and logistics are no joke. If I could redo my 48 hours in Roma, this is exactly how I would do it. Save this post

📍TRASTEVERE, ROME - is it worth visiting?
TLDR, no. Somehow Trastevere was portrayed as a gorgeous, lively neighbourhood to stay in Rome, with lots of good food, pretty alleyways and cute stores but when we visited it was such a shame to firstly see so much graffiti everywhere. The stores were also selling mostly the same stuff, Rom
