📖 My January Reading Stats! 📚

I read an insane amount this month for some reason 😳 this is the most I’ve read in a month ever haha!!

-

Best book of the month: A Court of Mist and Fury & Hexed. I couldn’t pick just one because both of these books were soooo good. ACOMAF was actually life altering lol. Hexed was such a bittersweet ending to a series I’ve loved!

Lowest rated book of the month: The Lying Game by Ruth Ware. I did not care for this book at alllll… which is shocking because I love Ruth Ware! It was just weird… iykyk…

... Read moreMy January reading journey was absolutely incredible, and I'm still reeling from the sheer volume of stories I devoured! Hitting 19 books and powering through over 7,000 pages was a personal best, and seeing that average rating of 4.13 across all those diverse reads just makes me smile. It truly shows what a fantastic start to the reading year it was. Speaking of those 5-star reads, 'A Court of Mist and Fury' by Sarah J. Maas truly was a game-changer for me. It wasn't just a book; it was an entire experience. The world-building is so immersive, the characters are incredibly complex and relatable, and the emotional journey it takes you on is profound. It's the kind of book that stays with you long after you've turned the last page, making you revisit scenes and ponder its themes. And then there was 'Hexed,' which provided such a satisfying, albeit bittersweet, conclusion to a series I'd grown deeply attached to. It’s those kinds of powerful narratives that make these monthly wrap-ups so exciting, reminding you of the magic and escapism you found within their covers. On the flip side, not every book can be a winner, and 'The Lying Game' by Ruth Ware, which ended up with a 3.0 rating, was a real head-scratcher for me. I usually adore Ruth Ware's suspenseful thrillers, but this one just didn't quite click. The pacing felt a little off, and I found myself struggling to connect with the characters or fully immerse myself in the mystery. It’s a good reminder that even authors you love can have a miss sometimes, and that’s perfectly okay! It helps you refine your taste and appreciate the truly exceptional reads even more. If you're wondering how I managed to hit such impressive stats – 19 books and over 7,000 pages – a big part of it is consistent reading and embracing different formats. I find tracking my daily page count hugely motivating, and it helps me push through when I might otherwise put a book down. This month, my genre distribution was quite varied, moving between fantasy, thrillers, and a bit of contemporary fiction, which I think also helped prevent any reading slumps. Don't be afraid to read multiple books at once or switch between physical copies, e-books, and audiobooks – whatever fits your mood and schedule best! Audiobooks, especially, are fantastic for multitasking and can significantly boost your page count. Creating these monthly reading wrap-ups has become such a highlight for me. It’s not just about crunching the numbers; it's about reflecting on what I've learned, what stories have resonated with me, and even what disappointed me. It helps me understand my own reading habits better, plan my next reads more effectively by identifying patterns in what I enjoy, and connect with other bookworms who share similar passions. Plus, there’s an immense satisfaction in seeing all your hard work and enjoyment laid out, whether you read 5 books or 19! It’s a wonderful way to celebrate your literary journey. What were your favorite reads this past month? I’d love to hear your recommendations and what made them special for you!
