For the nature journal and research
💚 Dandelion VS False Dandelion 💛
Dandelion leaf foraging in early spring can be challenging when it’s your first time and the flowers have not started.
This year I picked a variety of early dandelion-like rosettes in my backyard and I will be drying them and adding to my nature journal for comparison later this season.
I will be able to cultivate my dandelion patch better as I gain experience, and can’t wait to get blooms outside to make jelly, tea and tincture.
I also foraged some beautiful arrowleaf balsam root (cover image). A sure sign of spring when I see these on the hillside!
📖 Aside: Dandelion is my favorite shade of yellow, I find it absolutely lovely and inspiring. 🌼
Be well! Successful foraging to you!
Safety Note: ensure longevity of your foraging stands and only take a bit from each patch. Also make certain your forage spots have not been treated with pesticides, fertilizers or other harmful chemicals. 🙏
