There's been a lot of malware called RedTiger in the gaming industry and Discord users. It started with an open source tool used to test security, but was modified by people to become data theft malware. It usually comes with mods, trainers, or game cheaters. Once we download it and run it, the file will run quietly behind the scenes and immediately start scanning for important files and data stored on the machine.

RedTiger will find everything about Discord, either token, email, MFA status, or credit card information that was previously bound. It also excavates data from browsers like passwords, cookies, web browsing history, or saved credit card information, including files that often store codes or personal notes like .txt .sql .zip, and even scrapto vollet data like MetaMask or certain game files.

After capturing the data, the malware takes a screenshot or opens a photo webcam, compresses the file and uploads it to the file deposit service, and then sends the link back to the unsub via the Discord webhook, making the data very easy to escape.

And its detection-evading technique is quite clever. It closes itself when you encounter a debug or run on a VM and creates a large number of fake profiles to be hard to analyze. The main channels found include links on Discord servers, web giveaways, bootleg software or YouTube clips attached to fake links. Gamers are often targeted because they have multi-platform connected game accounts, such as Steam Epic, and often have digital items or assets worth it.

If anyone has an unusually slow machine condition, Discord works strangely or has a login notification that you didn't do, hurry to change the Discord password and email. Reset or revoke the token from every device. Load the new Discord installation from the official web only. Cleanse the data in the browser and scan the virus all over the machine. Turn on 2FA on all accounts. Avoid downloading from unknown sources. And if it's good to try mods, use the backup machine first. Be sure to be safe first.
