My Natural Hair Journey! 7 years 🥰

I can’t believe it’s almost been 7 years since I’ve been natural! I did my second big chop in September 2018 b/c my mama took too long to do my hair 😂 I was in the transition stage w/ permed ends & IYKYK it was a TIME!! So I just decided to part ways for good & cut the permed ends. The first one I did was during my perm era & I lovedddddd a pixie!

Anyways, this has been my natural hair journey thus far! I’m kind tired of the puff tho lol. It’s too much to manage. It takes two hours to detangle my hair alone 😢 My hair also got thicker after birth 😫 I’m just tired y’all! Ngl I was thinking about a texturizer & saw a post on here about straight naturals! I love it & I’m thinking about dedicating myself to it. I flat iron my hair maybe twice a year but I get my hair braided often. I take great care of my hair & I just do this puff as you can see 😂 minimal effort 😂 I ride to finger coil my hair in the last side & the shrinkage is R E A L!! 🫣 ugh tired sis! I’m gonna do a lil more research in the next few days! If you have any thoughts or tips pls don’t hesitate to share!

... Read moreEmbarking on a natural hair journey can be both liberating and challenging. As many women discover, dealing with natural hair requires patience and care, especially with textures that change over time. The transition from relaxed to natural can often involve multiple styles, like big chops to rid permed ends. This process can also lead to various management techniques, such as protective styles like braids and occasional heat styling, which many find helps with the overall maintenance. Moreover, using texturizers can offer a middle ground for those who want to ease the process while still embracing their natural curls. On this journey, community support plays a significant role. Engaging with others who experience similar struggles can provide not just tips, but also encouragement. Many online platforms, including forums and social media, foster discussions around tips for moisture retention, detangling techniques, and the journey through postpartum hair changes. Don’t hesitate to ask for advice or share your story—every journey is unique and worth sharing. Remember, it's all about finding what works best for you and celebrating your beautiful hair as it grows and evolves over time.
