Headbands/ear warmers can be made a bunch of different ways but some of my favorites
-worked flat across the entire length then sewed shut with a twist in the front. I make one of these specifically for my mom almost every year. I suggest sticking to a weight 4 for these instead of bulky because with bulky the twist becomes less nice.
-worked in short rows until it reaches the length needed. you can then add a twist. You can also start with some increases and end with some decreases making the perfect spot to put a cute button! This can be a great way to burn through some of that button jar too!
-Worked in the round start with the amount of chains needed to reach your desired length. This can be a great way to show off unique yarns and is the perfect way to make bulky war warmers. Bulky yarn takes me maybe 30 minutes to do the whole ear warmers weaving in ends and all.
Beanies can be worked flat a few ways. I find flat worked beanies to work up the fastest and you can use whatever yarns you have one hand!
-cat ear beanies just work a flat rectangle then sew it shut along the side and top. That's it! this is a great way to use up bulky yarns and can even be a fun scrap busting project
-worked flat then cinched shut at the top. This works best with weight 4-5 not fluffy yarns. the bulkier the yarn the bulkier the cinch! Sewing shut along the side then cinch the top shut. You can add a pompom to the top to hide the cinch
