Critique Vs. Opinion

✨When it comes to taking people‘s critique, there’s a certain balance you have to strike so that you don’t take it so much to heart that it discourages you from making more art. I think it’s important to take any critique you get with a grain of salt and remember what your own goals are in creating.

It’s definitely important to have a realistic idea of where you struggle and where you could grow but at the same time it’s important to hold onto your own voice! And the inspiration you get to keep creating shouldn’t be completely weighed down by the input of others.

Keep an open mind when it comes to getting advice! Just know that at the end of the day you’re the one making creative decisions and you’re the only person standing in the path of your creative growth and expression!

Keep sketching! Keep doodling, keep painting, keep creating. We artists are all on the creative journey no matter the ups and downs. You got this! 🤗

... Read moreUnderstanding the difference between critique and opinion is essential for anyone involved in creative pursuits. Critique offers constructive feedback aimed at helping you improve your skills, highlighting areas that need growth while providing actionable advice. Opinions, on the other hand, are subjective views that may or may not be relevant to your artistic goals. Striking the right balance in handling these inputs ensures you remain open to learning without feeling discouraged. Artists should approach critique with an open mind, considering it thoughtfully and filtering it through their own artistic intentions. Remember, feedback is not a final judgment but rather a guide for potential development. The key is to stay true to your creative voice and use critique as a tool to refine, not redefine, who you are as an artist. Maintaining this balance helps prevent taking critiques too personally, which can lead to creative block or loss of confidence. Instead, framing critique as a stepping stone encourages ongoing growth and resilience. Embracing this mindset fosters continuous sketching, doodling, painting, and experimentation. Moreover, artists benefit from setting clear personal goals and artistic visions. When critiques align with these goals, they become valuable insights; when they don't, they can be respectfully acknowledged without burdening your creative expression. In summary, balancing "Critiqueus vs. Opinion" means welcoming constructive feedback while safeguarding your individuality and motivation. This approach cultivates a sustainable creative journey through ups and downs, propelling you forward with confidence and clarity.

I despise unsolicited advice!😂 This means that I only give constructive criticism when asked. Opinions are like ***holes, everybody's got one! Keep doin' what you're doing, Cryptic. No one can stop you but you! OOPS, was that unsolicited advice? My fault!😂

Support Over Critique
There’s always going to be something to critique. But criticism alone doesn’t build anything. If we shifted even a fraction of that energy into supporting the people who are actually trying… imagine what we could create together. Not everything has to be perfect to be meaningful. Someti
