Hey, I’m Crystal. I’ve been on a healing journey for the past 5-7 years. Trying to understand the balance between showing up and pulling back to focus on my “shadow work” slash life lessons , lol . I’m sharing how to process Trauma through different forms of Somatic therapy , Energetic Dance , and Yoga. I have no clue what I’m doing ; literally just documenting the journey. I hope that this will give you direction or inspiration into your healing journey too. God won’t give you more then you can bare and if he does your meant to spill your cup over and share the lessons/blessing with others.

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, Somatic Therapy has been a transformative practice in addressing trauma stored in the body. Unlike traditional talk therapy, it focuses on reconnecting with bodily sensations and releasing tension that often holds unprocessed emotions. For example, through gentle movement and mindful breathwork, I gradually became aware of physical sensations linked to past traumatic experiences, allowing me to process emotions in a safe and grounded way. One of the most empowering tools I've used alongside Somatic Therapy is affirmations. Affirmations like "I embody resilience" and "I embody joy" serve as anchors that help me regulate my nervous system during moments of overwhelm. Repeating these affirmations consistently has cultivated a sense of safety and self-worth that complements my healing journey. Energetic Dance and Yoga have also played significant roles by providing dynamic and contemplative spaces to release stored trauma. Moving rhythmically to music or practicing deliberate yoga poses can shift stuck energy, helping to free the body from repetitive trauma patterns. The rhythm of dance, in particular, allowed me to connect joyfully with my body when words felt insufficient. Through this multi-faceted approach—including Somatic Therapy, affirmations, dance, and yoga—I have learned that healing is non-linear and deeply personal. It's about showing up for yourself consistently, recognizing when to push forward and when to rest, and inviting community support when needed. To anyone embarking on their own healing path, I encourage you to listen deeply to your body’s messages and explore what modalities resonate most with you. Embrace the shadows and the light equally, knowing that every step is a blessing. Sharing your journey openly, just as I have, can foster a sense of connection and inspire collective growth. Remember, your body holds profound wisdom, and your healing is sacred—embrace your light and resilience every day.
