... Read morePreparing for the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) was one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences in my life. I remember how overwhelming it felt initially, with so much material to cover, from dental anatomy to patient care principles. What helped me most was creating a structured study plan that broke down the topics week by week, which made the vast syllabus much more manageable. In addition to textbooks and online resources, I found practice exams invaluable in identifying my weak areas. They not only boosted my confidence but also familiarized me with the exam format. Balancing study sessions with breaks was essential to avoid burnout; sometimes, a walk or a quick chat with fellow dental hygiene students recharged my motivation. On a typical day, my routine included reviewing lecture notes in the morning, watching tutorial videos in the afternoon, and dedicating the evening to practice questions. Engaging in study groups allowed me to discuss difficult concepts and share useful memorization techniques. For anyone preparing for the NBDHE, my advice is to stay consistent and seek support when needed. Remember, this journey is as much about discipline as it is about passion for dental health. Reflecting on that period a year ago reminds me how far dedication can take you and how exciting a career as a dental hygienist truly is.
