Chicago Fall Girls’ Guide: Wicker Park ☕🍂”

Spent the day in Wicker Park and found some gems if you’re into thrifting + cozy vibes. 💕

📍 Happy Belated Clothing – a by-the-pound thrift shop where you pay for clothes by weight (so fun + affordable). Perfect if you love digging for hidden treasures. They also have a cute cat that lives in the store! Omg.

📍 2nd STREET Wicker Park – a more curated thrift with trendy pieces and solid prices. A few cool designer pieces too.

📍 The Up Room – rooftop coffee + cocktail spot with gorgeous views. Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up or golden hour hang.

Wicker Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods to explore — between the vintage shops, rooftops, and artsy vibe, you can easily make a whole day out of it. 🖤

Would you spend a weekend here thrifting + hanging out? 👇

Wicker Park
2025/9/29 Edited to

... Read moreAs a huge fan of vintage finds and exploring new neighborhoods, I can't recommend a day in Wicker Park enough, especially if you're chasing those unique thrifting treasures! My recent trip felt like hitting the jackpot, and I wanted to share even more details to help you plan your perfect Wicker Park adventure. Let's dive deeper into the thrifting scene. Happy Belated Clothing isn't just any thrift store; it's an experience! Imagine walking into a vibrant space filled with racks and bins, knowing you're paying by the pound. It's truly thrilling to unearth a hidden gem, especially when you consider you can score quality secondhand clothing from Japan for just $8 per pound (what a steal compared to the original $18!). I always set aside a good hour or two here, because the best finds often require a bit of digging, but it's always worth it. And yes, the store's resident cat is the most adorable shopping companion you could ask for – definitely adds to the cozy, welcoming vibe. Then there's 2nd STREET Wicker Park, which offers a different, yet equally rewarding, thrifting journey. If Happy Belated is about the thrill of the hunt at a bargain price, 2nd STREET is where you go for more curated, trend-focused pieces. I've personally found some incredible designer items here at prices that are far more accessible than retail. They do a fantastic job of selecting items, so you’re less likely to be overwhelmed and more likely to find something stylish and ready-to-wear. It's perfect for when you want to upgrade your wardrobe with unique, high-quality pieces without breaking the bank. Beyond these amazing thrift spots, Wicker Park itself is a destination. After all that shopping, a break is a must! The Up Room, with its stunning rooftop coffee and cocktail options, is the ultimate way to unwind. I love heading up there during golden hour; the Chicago skyline views are absolutely breathtaking. It's the perfect spot to reflect on your day's finds or just enjoy a beautiful sunset with friends. What I love most about Wicker Park isn't just the individual shops, but how seamlessly everything blends into a full-day experience. You can start with a coffee, dive into thrifting, grab a bite at one of the many fantastic eateries, and then finish with those incredible rooftop views. It's a neighborhood that truly embodies an artsy, vibrant spirit, making every visit feel like a mini-getaway. So, next time you're thinking of a weekend outing or a 'girldate' idea, put Wicker Park at the top of your list. Happy hunting, and enjoy those cozy vibes!
