Busy Mums Are Always Adjusting!

Today became a last minute urgent leave day because Mumsy here totally forgot about Little Bae’s appointment with her teacher! 😣

From rushing work, quick lunch with colleagues, then chiong to the MRT from west to east, luckily I reached just on time. 😮‍💨

Honestly, this is the reality for many working mums. Plans change anytime, schedules suddenly shift, and sometimes we are just trying our best to make everything work together.

Moments like this remind me why flexibility matters so much to me. Not because I want an “easy life,” but because I want to have the choice and space to be present when family needs me without constantly feeling pulled in every direction.

Maybe that’s why I continue building something on the side little by little too. 💪🏻

... Read moreAs a working mum myself, I completely relate to how hectic and unpredictable days can be. Often, despite careful planning, unexpected events like last-minute appointments or urgent work tasks demand immediate attention, requiring us to adjust on the fly. This constant juggling act is exhausting but also teaches us resilience and prioritization. One key lesson I've learned is the importance of flexibility—not to make life easier, but to create room to support my family without neglecting my career ambitions. For instance, there have been days when I had to swiftly transition from a work meeting to a parent-teacher conference, navigating public transport and squeezing in quick meals along the way, much like the experience shared here. Additionally, building something on the side, whether it's a business, a creative project, or a new skill, provides not only supplemental income but also a sense of empowerment. It reminds me that even within a packed schedule, small, consistent efforts can pave the way for greater independence and fulfillment. For busy mums reading this, I encourage embracing the imperfection of each day. Instead of striving for a flawless schedule, focus on adaptability and intentional presence. It’s okay to adjust plans and prioritize what matters most in the moment—your family's needs and your well-being. These real-life moments are what shape our strength and deepen our connection with our loved ones.
