When they do finally reach out, their words might not align with the emotional chasm that’s grown. One important insight I've gathered is that healing or improving communication requires more than surface-level compliments; it demands honest conversations about needs, feelings, and expectations. Without this, the compliment risks being perceived as a superficial fix rather than a meaningful reconnection. If your partner ignores you for an extended period and suddenly attempts to bridge that gap with flattery, it’s valid to question their intentions and the true state of your connection. Sometimes, their silence might indicate they've moved on or feel happier without the relationship pressures, as can be hinted by changes in their demeanor or their avoidance of deeper engagement.
