What are some eggnog based alcohol drinks are best
So I wanna be holly jolly for the holiday season and have some yummy like “holiday time” drinks. BUT even at my big age I don’t drink and if I do it’s mixed drinks and it’s rare. I tried skrewball peanut butter eggnog I believe and it was yummy but I’m a light weight! What’s some others that are good. Also any holiday themed beverages are helpful. I want real feedback because I don’t wanna waste and it be gross and overhyped. #drinks#AskLemon8 #lemon8contest #spikedeggnog#fyp

You want to feel festive and enjoy those cozy vibes, but without accidentally overdoing it. After trying a few things myself (and sometimes regretting it!), I've gathered some awesome ideas for eggnog based alcohol drinks that hit just right, even if you like to keep things on the lighter side.
First up, let's talk about the classics that pair beautifully with eggnog. If you're looking for that traditional, warm holiday feeling, dark rum or spiced rum are fantastic choices. A good quality rum adds a lovely depth and spice that complements the creamy eggnog perfectly. Just a shot or two mixed into a glass of chilled eggnog, maybe with a sprinkle of nutmeg, and you're good to go! For a more sophisticated touch, brandy or cognac are also traditional pairings, bringing a rich, fruity warmth. And if you're a whiskey fan, bourbon can add a delightful sweetness with a hint of smokiness. These are great starting points, and remember, you can always add milk if it's heavy alcohol based to dilute it a bit!
Now, for us lightweights, finding something that tastes amazing but won't send us reeling is key. This is where options like Irish cream liqueur (like Baileys) shine. It's already creamy and sweet, blending seamlessly with eggnog for a dessert-like drink that's lower in alcohol content. If you love coffee, a splash of Kahlúa or other coffee liqueur with your eggnog creates a delicious 'eggnog latte' vibe. And remember how I tried that peanut butter eggnog? Peanut butter whiskey is a fantastic choice for something a bit different and sweeter, often with a smoother, less intense alcohol kick.
Here are a few simple ideas for making these best alcoholic eggnog drinks your own:
Simple Spiked Eggnog: My go-to is just 1 part alcohol (rum, bourbon, or brandy) to 4-5 parts eggnog, stirred well and served over ice with nutmeg.
Creamy Delight: Mix 1 part Irish cream with 3-4 parts eggnog for a super smooth, sweet treat.
Eggnog White Russian Twist: Combine 1 oz vodka, 0.5 oz coffee liqueur, and top with 3-4 oz eggnog.
Customizing for a Light Weight: The beauty of these drinks is how adaptable they are. Don't be afraid to use less alcohol than a recipe suggests – seriously, start with just a half shot! You can always top up your glass with extra non-alcoholic eggnog or even a splash of regular milk to significantly reduce the strength without sacrificing flavor. Serving in smaller, festive glasses also helps you enjoy the experience without consuming too much. You can also boost flavor with non-alcoholic additions like a dash of vanilla extract, a pinch of allspice, or a cinnamon stick for stirring.
And since I also asked about other holiday themed beverages, I have to mention a few non-eggnog favorites! For a warm, comforting option, a good mulled wine is always a winner. It fills the house with incredible aromas and is perfect for chilly evenings. Or, for a non-alcoholic but equally festive choice, a spiced cranberry sparkling cider always feels special and bubbly.
I hope these ideas help you find your perfect holiday sip! It's all about enjoying the season responsibly and finding what tastes good to *you*. What are your favorite what to mix with eggnog alcoholic recipes? I'm always looking for new suggestions!
