Officially my fav sukiyaki spot now

@sukiyakijinsg is new sukiyaki restaurant (under @lesamisgroupsg ) in Orchard that specialises in serving wagyu sukiyaki. SukiyakiJIN opens on 2 May 2026 at Shaw Centre, Level 1.

We had the signature tomato sukiyaki and the soup base was so sweet and savoury at the same time. The beef? So tender and buttery.

Each pot arrives as a towering ‘mountain’ of premium Japanese A5 wagyu. Underneath the beef slices is a heap of napa cabbage, Japanese leek, chrysanthemum greens, onions, shimeji and enoki mushrooms, silken tofu, and konjac noodles. The vegetables are sweet and fresh. Remember to leave some soup base in the pot for them to cook the risotto.

After the meal, they will add either risotto or udon into the hotpot. For the risotto, they will add steamed Hokkaido Yumepirika rice and shredded cheese.

It includes a dessert too. Each gets a scoop of ice cream

... Read moreIf you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine, SukiyakiJIN at Shaw Centre is definitely worth a visit. What makes this spot stand out is their signature tomato sukiyaki broth, which strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and savoriness, giving the dish a unique flavour profile that’s unlike the traditional soy-based versions. The highlight is definitely their generous serving of premium Japanese A5 wagyu beef. The beautifully marbled meat is tender and buttery, which melts in your mouth. Paired with a combo of fresh vegetables—napa cabbage, Japanese leek, chrysanthemum greens, and varieties of mushrooms—the meal feels wholesome and satisfying. A great tip is to not finish all of the soup during your meal because SukiyakiJIN uses the leftover broth to cook your choice of either cheese risotto made with Hokkaido Yumepirika rice or udon noodles. This final course lets you savor the broth's deep umami flavors again in a whole new way. I personally enjoyed the risotto, as the rice soaked up all the deliciousness, making it a perfect comfort food ending. While the dessert, a simple scoop of ice cream, may not be the star, it’s a nice touch to cleanse the palate after the rich sukiyaki. The price point is on the higher end ($48++ per pax, minimum for two), but the quality and overall dining experience feel worth it for a special treat in Orchard. For those planning to visit, SukiyakiJIN is located on Level 1, Shaw Centre (1 Scotts Road). Reservations might be a good idea as the spot is gaining popularity quickly. Whether you’re a wagyu lover or someone looking to explore an elevated sukiyaki, SukiyakiJIN delivers on both taste and atmosphere, making it my favorite sukiyaki place in Singapore so far.

Try kagami at orchard plaza. Difficult to get reservations but if you can. It’s sukiyaki and shabu shabu omakase.

🔥 “Tomato sukiyaki… with chilli padi?” 📍 SUKIYAKIJIN Honestly, this was one of those meals that immediately catches attention the moment it arrives at the table. A whole “mountain” of A5 wagyu slowly simmering in a rich spicy tomato sukiyaki broth… definitely not your usual Japanese hotpot
