🫶Hearing Jesus🫶

Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how important it is to truly connect with Jesus, especially in our busy lives. We often talk about 'praying in spirit,' but what does that really mean, and how does it help us hear Him more clearly? It’s something I’ve personally explored, and the peace it brings is incredible. For me, 'praying in spirit' isn't just about reciting words; it's about opening my heart and soul to a deeper communion, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide my prayers. It’s a conversation where I’m not just talking, but actively listening for His gentle guidance. The Bible gives us beautiful insights into this. For instance, Ephesians 6:18 encourages us to be "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." This verse reminds me that prayer isn't a one-time event, but a continuous, spirit-led dialogue. Then there’s Romans 8:26-27, which is incredibly comforting: "Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." This shows me that even when I don’t have the right words, the Spirit is interceding for me. It takes the pressure off and lets me simply be present. And Jude 1:20 is a powerful call to "build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit." These verses highlight that praying in spirit is about letting the Holy Spirit be the bridge, connecting our hearts directly to God’s. It's through this kind of prayer that I truly start "hearing Jesus." Just like the lyrics from a song I once wrote say, "sometimes in the craziness of life I forget that I could feel the peace of Jesus just by listening for him." This practice of praying in spirit creates the quiet space needed for that listening. When I commit to praying in spirit, I find that the noise of the world fades, and I can perceive the "echo of his words" more distinctly. It’s not always an audible voice, but often a profound sense of peace, a clear thought, or a gentle nudge in my heart and soul.
