เมื่อเข้าสู่โลกของการสร้างคอนเทนต์อย่างจริงจัง ผมได้เรียนรู้ว่าผู้ติดตามเยอะๆ นั้นบางครั้งอาจจะไม่ได้แปลว่าคุณมีฐานแฟนคลับที่แข็งแกร่งหรือกลุ่มคนที่สนใจจริงจังกับคุณ การซื้อแฟนคลับหรือใช้บริการปั๊มเพิ่มตัวเลขยอดติดตามดูเหมือนจะทำให้ตัวเลขบนโซเชียลมีเดียดูเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว แต่ในความเป็นจริงแล้ว มันไม่ได้ช่วยเพิ่มความมีชีวิตชีวาหรือ engagement ที่แท้จริงให้กับโพสต์ของคุณเลย เมื่อเอาเข้าจริงโพสต์อาจจะถูกเมิน หรือไม่มีคนสนใจดูจนจบ นั่นคือสัญญาณว่าคุณอาจมีผู้ติดตามแค่จำนวนแต่ไม่มีคอมมูนิตี้ที่แท้จริง จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว ผมพบว่าค่า retention หรือการที่ผู้ชมดูเนื้อหาของเราอย่างต่อเนื่อง มีความหมายมากกว่าตัวเลขผู้ติดตามที่ดูโตขึ้นเรื่อยๆ คนที่คอมเมนต์จริงๆ หรือคนที่จดจำคาแรคเตอร์และรอคอนเทนต์ของเราตอนต่อไปคือของแท้ ที่สร้าง community ยั่งยืนได้มากกว่าการปั๊มตัวเลข ยุคนี้ด้วยเทคโนโลยี AI content ที่ล้นตลาด มันยิ่งทำให้การมีตัวตนที่ชัดเจนและประสบการณ์ที่ผู้ชมมีต่อคอนเทนต์ของเราเป็นเรื่องสำคัญยิ่ง ถ้าคุณเคยหลงใหลกับตัวเลขและยอดฟอลที่ดูสูง แต่รู้สึกว่า engagement ไม่โตตาม แนะนำให้ลองเปลี่ยนโฟกัสมาที่การสร้างความสัมพันธ์กับผู้ชมหรือแฟนคลับที่แท้จริง ลงมือสร้างคอนเทนต์ที่ทำให้คนรู้สึกผูกพันและอยากติดตามต่อเนื่องมากกว่าการวิ่งไล่ตัวเลขที่อาจเป็นเพียงภาพลวงตา สุดท้ายแล้วคอนเทนต์ที่มีคุณค่าคือคอนเทนต์ที่ทำให้ผู้ชมรู้สึกว่าตัวเองมีส่วนร่วม เข้าใจอารมณ์ และรู้สึกถึงความเชื่อมโยงกับผู้สร้าง เป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญที่ทำให้ตัวตนของเรายั่งยืนในโลกโชเชียลที่เปลี่ยนแปลงเร็วนี้อย่างแท้จริง
