Working with children has always been a deeply rewarding experience, especially when guided by the Spirit’s influence. From my personal journey in teaching and mentoring youth, I have witnessed how the Spirit’s presence can illuminate the hearts of even the youngest learners, making biblical lessons come alive in ways that inspire a lasting spiritual connection. One of the most profound insights I gained is the importance of humility and childlike faith — concepts emphasized in Matthew 18:2-4, where Jesus highlights that no one can enter the kingdom of heaven unless they become like little children. This passage reminds us that the qualities of innocence, trust, and openness are essential, not just for children but for adults seeking spiritual growth. In practical terms, this means creating an environment where children feel valued and safe to explore their faith. The Spirit brings a fresh and radiant light to Scripture, transforming it from a distant or daunting text into a living source of mercy, love, and guidance. Ultimately, embracing the Spirit’s guidance in working with children is an ongoing blessing. It reveals the transformative power of faith in nurturing the next generation and continuing the legacy of God’s kingdom here on earth.
