Understand the luteal phase

The luteal phase starts at around day 15 of your cycle and ends when you get your period. During the luteal phase an egg travels from the ovary to your uterus. If it isn’t fertilized you will get your period. The hormone progesterone increase to help thicken the uterus. This can cause certain symptoms. Such as being tired, breast tenderness, bloating, sadness, and more.

Here are things I like to do during this phase to help myself.

1. Eat small more often meals and less salty meals. This helps with my bloating and my fatigue.

2. Do low intensity workouts. It helps me with bloating, gives me a blast of energy, yet doesn’t cause me any pains. I love taking a slow walk or doing stretches at home.

3. Make sure to prioritize sleep, hydration and relaxation. All of this help me maintain a less sad off mood. It helps me not feel fatigue or depressed. Helps my mental state.

It's characterized by the rise in progesterone, preparing the uterus for potential pregnancy. Symptoms such as fatigue, bloating, and mood swings can occur due to hormonal fluctuations. To ease these symptoms, consider implementing healthful practices. Eating smaller, more frequent meals can alleviate bloating, while low-intensity workouts such as walking or gentle stretching enhance energy levels without added stress. Prioritizing hydration, adequate sleep, and relaxation techniques—like meditation or calming activities—can improve mood stability and overall mental health. Implementing these luteal wellness tips can lead to a more comfortable experience during this phase of your cycle.
