You know that feeling in Overwatch 2 when you pull off a perfect flank, catch the enemy off guard, and secure a crucial elimination? It’s like a 'slam' – a sudden, impactful move that changes the flow of the game! As someone who loves playing those high-risk, high-reward flankers, I’ve definitely had my share of epic moments, and let me tell you, it's exhilarating. Executing a successful flank isn't just about running around the enemy; it’s about timing and precision. You want to wait for the main fight to engage, drawing the enemy's attention forward. Then, using cover and alternative routes, you slip behind their lines. Who are you looking for? Often, it's those vulnerable support heroes like Kiriko or Ana, or perhaps a pesky sniper like Widowmaker. Taking them out can cripple the enemy team instantly. I remember one match on a control point map, 'preparing for round 1' and thinking, 'Okay, I need to make a statement.' I found an opening, dove on their backline, and secured two quick eliminations. Suddenly, our team had the advantage! Different flankers have different 'slam' styles. A Tracer can zip in, dump a clip, and Recall out before they know what hit them. Genji can dash through, secure a kill, and Dash again to safety. Sombra's Hack and Translocator make her a master of disruption and quick picks. Even a Reaper can teleport onto a high ground, drop down, and unleash a deadly Death Blossom. Each hero offers a unique way to create that game-changing moment. But it's not always sunshine and eliminations. I've been 'eliminated by Daser' or 'eliminated by MilkTea' more times than I can count when a flank goes wrong! It’s part of the learning curve. Sometimes you misjudge a target’s health, or their team reacts quicker than expected. You might see the 'YOU HAVE DIED' screen, and then you're 'reviving', learning from the mistake. That’s why practicing in 'skirmish' mode or exploring the map routes thoroughly can be incredibly helpful. It allows you to try new heroes or explore the map without the pressure of a ranked game. The key is to learn from every attempt. If you were eliminated, think about why. Did you go in too early? Did you pick the wrong target? Was your escape route cut off? Mastering flankers takes time, patience, and a lot of trial and error. But when you land that perfect 'slam' – disrupting the enemy, securing a vital pick, and watching their team crumble – it's incredibly satisfying. So, next time you're in Overwatch 2, don't be afraid to try a flanker and go for that epic 'slam' moment. You might just surprise yourself and your team! What are your favorite flanker moments or tips?
