Another thing that helped me was cutting back on processed and greasy foods, which often trigger flare-ups. I include more leafy greens, lean proteins, and foods with natural anti-inflammatory properties like ginger and bananas in my diet. Hydration also plays a big role, so drinking enough water and chewing food slowly helps digestion and reduces symptoms. Stress management is another important factor. I've noticed that during periods of high stress, my acid reflux symptoms worsen. Incorporating activities such as light exercise, meditation, and sufficient sleep helped me keep stress under control and therefore reduced my reflux episodes. If symptoms persist despite these changes, it’s crucial to see a healthcare professional as prolonged acid reflux can lead to complications like Barrett's esophagus. In my experience, a holistic approach combining diet, lifestyle tweaks, and professional advice offers the best way to manage acid reflux and improve quality of life.
