I’ve lost 200 lbs and I’m proud of that.
But after 2 babies back to back, I gained some weight back.
Not because what I was doing didn’t work, but because life changed for a season.
Now I’m getting back into the habits that helped me lose 200 lbs in the first place and yes, that still includes foods I love. 🍓💜

Losing 200 lbs was a life-changing accomplishment, but I’ve learned firsthand that maintaining weight loss, especially after major life events like having children, can be just as challenging. What helped me maintain my motivation was accepting that my body went through changes beyond my control during pregnancy. Instead of feeling discouraged by the weight I gained after having two babies back-to-back, I focused on re-establishing the habits that initially worked for me. One key habit is balance. I didn’t give up the foods I enjoy, like desserts, which was crucial for my mental and emotional health. Allowing myself to have treats in moderation helped me stay consistent without feeling deprived. This mindset shift made a big difference compared to strict dieting approaches that I’d tried in the past. Another important factor is being gentle with myself. Life gets busy, especially as a mother, and I adapted my routine to fit my current lifestyle. Instead of intense workouts every day, I incorporated shorter, manageable sessions and prioritized movement whenever I could. Support from others also played a role. Connecting with other moms on similar journeys and sharing goals created a community of encouragement. Knowing I wasn’t alone helped me stay accountable and motivated. Lastly, tracking progress beyond the scale—like how my clothes fit, my energy levels, and mood—gave me a fuller picture of health and wellness. This holistic approach keeps me focused on long-term habits that support not just weight loss but a happier, more balanced life.
