As a runner it is super important to be taking in enough calories and nutrients to support your workout. Endurance runners might be running for over 3 hours and that takes a lot of fuel to get through.

Underfueling refers to not taking in enough calories for the physical demand our body is going through. This can result in low energy availability and lead to real symptoms like exhaustion, changes in your menstrual cycle, lack of interest in your workout or day, and illness.
