How The Old Testament Points To Jesus

Have you ever wondered how the Old Testament connects to the New Testament?

Many believers read the Bible as two separate stories, but Scripture reveals one unified story of redemption centered on Jesus Christ. The Old Testament prepares the way, and the New Testament reveals the fulfillment of God’s promises through His Son.

📖 This visual storyboard helps you trace the connections between God’s promises, prophecies, covenants, sacrifices, and their fulfillment in Christ.

Inside you’ll discover:

✨ How the Old Testament points to Jesus

✨ Major prophecies fulfilled in the New Testament

✨ The meaning of biblical types and shadows

✨ How God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture

✨ Why the Bible tells one unified story

✨ Practical ways to connect both Testaments during Bible study

Perfect for:

📚 Bible study groups

📚 New believers

📚 Homeschool Bible lessons

📚 Bible journaling

📚 Discipleship studies

📚 Understanding the big picture of Scripture

Key Scriptures featured include:

📖 Genesis 3:15

📖 Exodus 12

📖 Jeremiah 31:31-34

📖 Luke 24:27

📖 Galatians 4:4

📖 Hebrews 8:10

📖 John 20:31

📖 John 5:39

One of the most powerful truths in Scripture is that the Bible tells one continuous story. From the Garden of Eden to the empty tomb, God’s plan has always pointed toward Jesus Christ, the promised Savior and Redeemer.

📖 The purpose of this storyboard is to help believers see the unity of Scripture, strengthen their confidence in God’s Word, and deepen their understanding of Christ throughout the entire Bible.

📚 Every Drawn By Scripture storyboard includes Bible references throughout the design so you can study directly from Scripture and verify every detail for yourself.

🤎 As always, these visual resources are not founded on my own understanding, opinions, traditions, or denominational teachings. Every board is built directly from God’s Word, with Scripture references included throughout so that the Bible remains the authority and the proof.

📚 More Bible maps, timelines, genealogy charts, character studies, and visual Bible resources are available through the link in my bio.

... Read moreOne of the most fascinating aspects of studying the Bible is seeing the continuous thread of redemption that runs from the Old Testament through to the New Testament, centered on Jesus Christ. The Old Testament lays a foundational groundwork by containing numerous promises, prophecies, and symbolic types that all point toward the coming Savior. For example, Genesis 3:15, often called the "protoevangelium," speaks of the seed of the woman crushing the serpent’s head, referring to the ultimate victory of Christ over sin and Satan. Similarly, the Passover lamb in Exodus 12 serves as a powerful type of Jesus, who is described in the New Testament as our perfect Passover Lamb without blemish, sacrificed for our salvation (1 Corinthians 5:7). Moreover, the Old Testament prophets, such as Isaiah and Jeremiah, foretell the coming of a new covenant—a promise that God will write His laws on the hearts of His people and forgive their sins (Jeremiah 31:31-34). This promise is fulfilled in the New Testament through Jesus and the gift of the Holy Spirit, establishing a new direct relationship between God and believers. By reading Luke 24:27 and John 5:39, we see how Jesus Himself explained these connections, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, revealing how every part of Scripture points to Him. This approach to Bible study not only deepens our understanding but also strengthens our faith as we recognize God’s consistent plan of redemption throughout history. Personally, I’ve found that using visual aids like storyboards and Bible maps helps to better grasp these complex connections. They make it easier to follow the "red thread" of redemption, showing how every covenant, sacrifice, and prophecy leads to Christ. Engaging with Scripture this way has enriched my personal Bible study and helped me share more effectively with others the beauty and unity of God’s Word. For anyone seeking to grow in their Christian faith, whether new or mature in the faith, seeing this unified story is vital. It not only confirms the divine inspiration of the Bible but also reveals the heart of God’s plan—Jesus Christ as the promised Savior who fulfills all Scripture.
