it takes so much energy every time

One of the most perplexing differences between people with ADHD and neurotypicals, to me, is how they approach chores, especially the routine ones such as cleaning, doing the dishes, laundry etc. Other people just... do them. It's like they don't even notice it.

There is even the cliche of cleaning the house while procrastinating something else. I cannot comprehend this. I would be SO HAPPY if cleaning was somehow my coping strategy. Any advice TIA!

The perception of daily tasks often differs greatly from those without ADHD, leading to feelings of frustration and exhaustion. Research indicates that individuals with ADHD may experience a lack of motivation and focus when it comes to chores, making it seem like an insurmountable task. Strategies such as breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps, setting timers, and using visual reminders can be immensely helpful. Additionally, engaging in discussions on platforms dedicated to ADHD may provide valuable tips and support from those who understand the struggle. DHA and Omega-3 supplements are believed to support cognitive function and may benefit those with ADHD. Incorporating these into a healthy diet, alongside regular physical activity and sufficient sleep, could aid in lessening the overwhelming feeling associated with chores. Connecting with the ADHD community online can also provide encouragement, making the cleaning process a little easier and more enjoyable.

It’s hard to complete chores with adhd because you just keep picking up task and dropping them leaving you with nothing finished
