Hormone Balance Tips (Nervous System Edition)

Healing our hormones starts with a balanced nervous system.

I love these 3 tips that help provide consistency in our body and mind, impacting our overall health and the safety of our nervous system.

1. Red light. I love this at-home tool because it not only energizes our cells to produce ATP (cellular energy), but this tells our parasympathetic nervous system to deeply relax and limit stress hormone production. Lower cortisol means more balanced estrogen and progesterone!

2. Spending time in nature. Nature is so healing for our senses. Nature emits negatively charged ions that lower inflammation in our body. Inflammation is a major cause of hormone imbalance, so grounding and being as "one with the earth" as possible does the opposite!

3. Moving our bodies outside. I love this hack because not only are we setting our circadian rhythm with natural sunlight on our eyes (which helps lower cortisol at night), but we are boosting lymphatic flow and helping our body get rid of toxins that hurt our hormones.

... Read moreBalancing hormones is essential for overall well-being, and the nervous system plays a crucial role in this process. Red light therapy, known for its ability to enhance ATP production, further calms the parasympathetic nervous system, which effectively reduces cortisol levels. High cortisol can disrupt the balance of important hormones like estrogen and progesterone, contributing to various health issues. Spending time in nature has profound effects on our physical and mental health. The negative ions in natural environments have been shown to alleviate inflammation, a primary contributor to hormone imbalance. Embracing nature through grounding practices can reconnect us with the earth's energy, fostering a more harmonious state within. Moreover, movement outdoors aligns with our body’s circadian rhythm, ensuring that our hormonal cycles remain steady. Exposure to natural light during physical activity lowers nighttime cortisol levels and enhances lymphatic function. This not only clears toxins but also supports metabolism, ultimately promoting healthier hormone levels. By incorporating these practices into daily routines, individuals can significantly improve their hormonal balance and overall wellness.
