Healing from COVID-19 PTSD: Let’s Talk About it🫶✨

2024/12/20 Edited to

... Read moreThe COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly changed our lives, creating a lingering sense of isolation and anxiety for many. Understanding the importance of social connections is key in the recovery process. According to research, long-term isolation can significantly impact mental health by rewiring the brain, leading to social anxiety and feelings of disconnection. To aid in healing, it's vital to approach social interactions gradually. Start by reaching out to someone you trust, making small connections to rebuild your confidence and social skills. Rejoining community activities can also foster bonds; participating in clubs or local events releases oxytocin, which lowers stress and enhances emotional well-being. Being vulnerable during this time is essential; sharing feelings can create deeper connections with others and enhance overall resilience. Self-compassion also plays a critical role; acknowledging that it's normal to feel overwhelmed allows individuals to take steps forward at their own pace. By practicing these techniques, individuals can facilitate their recovery from PTSD caused by the pandemic, helping them reconnect and thrive in a changed world.

ADHD OR PTSD(trauma response)???
In a lot of podcasts, talk shows, tiktoks etc people seem to always link ADHD with a childhood trauma. Me being diagnosed with severe ADHD and no childhood trauma, it really caused me to wonder if I was blocking out something.🥲 I thought I had a great childhood. I feel my parents did their best.
