One of the most effective waste minimization techniques I practice involves reusing things that others might discard, such as clothing that holds sentimental value. Instead of buying new clothes, I often wear my friends' or cousins' garments passed on to me, which helps reduce landfill waste and gives these pieces a second life. I also pay special attention to water conservation. For instance, when I rinse vegetables, I collect the nutrient-rich water and use it as a natural fertilizer for my plants, turning what would be waste into nourishment for my garden. Another unusual habit is my approach to makeup. I prefer handmade cosmetic products that come in reusable containers. After finishing the product, I clean and reuse the container, reducing plastic waste and saving money on packaging. These small, thoughtful actions—though unconventional—collectively make a meaningful impact on waste reduction. By sharing these tips, I hope to inspire others to explore their own frugal and eco-friendly habits that promote sustainability in everyday life.
