What better way to cap off the year than with a final trio of bakes that truly captured my heart? These weren't just any recipes; they were a culmination of flavors and memories, making them my ultimate 'delicious bakez 2025 recap and review.' First up, the classic Apple Pie. There’s something incredibly comforting about a homemade apple pie, isn't there? The crisp, buttery crust giving way to a warm, spiced apple filling – it’s pure heaven. I always choose a mix of tart and sweet apples to get that perfect balance, and a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg just elevates it. My favorite part of making apple pie is definitely the smell that fills the entire house as it bakes. It instantly takes me back to cozy family gatherings and the simple joys of home. This year, I experimented with a lattice top, and while it took a bit more patience, the result was so rewarding and beautiful! It felt like a perfect farewell to the baking adventures of 2025. Next, I dove into making Coricos, those wonderful Mexican shortbread cookies. If you haven't tried them, you're missing out! These delicate, melt-in-your-mouth cookies, often flavored with corn flour, offer a unique texture and a subtly sweet taste. For me, making Coricos is a direct link to my heritage. I remember my aunt making these during special occasions, and every bite brings back a flood of warm memories. There’s a certain artistry in getting that signature crumbly yet firm texture just right. They’re fantastic with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and they always bring a smile to anyone who tries them. Including them in my final bakes of 2025 felt like a sweet nod to tradition and family. And finally, to complete my delicious 2025 baking review, a luscious Sweet Potato Pie. This pie is a staple for me, especially as the weather gets cooler. It’s not as common as pumpkin pie, but it holds a special place in my heart with its creamy, spiced filling and slightly caramelized top. I love how versatile sweet potato pie can be; you can adjust the spices to your liking – a little extra ginger or a dash of allspice can really make it sing. I usually top mine with a dollop of fresh whipped cream, which perfectly complements its richness. It’s the kind of dessert that feels like a warm hug, and it was the ideal comforting treat to wrap up a year full of baking explorations. These three bakes – the comforting apple pie, the traditional Coricos, and the soul-warming sweet potato pie – truly represent some of the highlights of my 2025 baking journey.
