Can we talk about why child free women can’t just be on these apps?

Lately on social media, I’ve been seeing a lot of women who have chosen to be child-free by choice getting shamed. They won’t even be talking about their decision, and somehow the comments become people trying to convince them why having kids would be the best thing that ever happened to them. Then there’s another group calling them selfish because, God forbid, a woman wants to do other things with her life besides have children.

Everybody wants to support women’s rights until women actually make choices they don’t personally agree with. Isn’t the whole point of having rights that you get to choose the life you want? Why can’t that just be enough?

If you want to have children because you think it’ll be fulfilling, amazing. Go for it. As a mom and someone who’s always wanted kids, I’m genuinely having the best time of my life. AND I can also fully respect people who know they don’t want children and stick with that decision. Honestly, I respect it a lot because that’s far better than having a child you never wanted and not giving them the love and care they deserve.

What are your thoughts on this?

I feel like I’m starting to share more of my inner thoughts on this page, and I know y’all are probably going to get tired of me soon… but I low-key be having so many thoughts because social media is normalizing a lot of things that are WEIRD. 😂

also, I didn’t see the tag on my top until I was done filming this video and I wasn’t about to delete it LMAO!!

... Read moreI've noticed that conversations around being child-free often trigger strong reactions, and it honestly surprised me how persistent the pressure can be. From personal experience and engaging with others online, many women who choose not to have children encounter unsolicited advice and judgment that questions their decision's validity. The OCR text "I'd like to understand why child free people can't just BE.... it actually." really captures the frustration that comes with society's inability to accept this choice as normal. What’s important to recognize is that being child-free is not a rejection of families or happiness but a valid lifestyle choice. Supporting women means embracing their autonomy regardless of whether their paths include motherhood. The freedom to decide what fulfillment looks like for each individual is the heart of true women's rights. In many social media spaces, including platforms tagged with #childfreetiktok and #motherhoodjourney, the juxtaposition of mothers sharing joyful parenting experiences and child-free women asserting their choices creates rich, yet sometimes tense, dialogues. Hearing personal stories showed me that respecting diverse experiences leads to better understanding and reduces the need to persuade others to conform. Through my interactions, I’ve learned it's healthier for everyone to honor decisions without attaching value judgments or assumptions about selfishness or inadequacy. After all, anyone can have a meaningful life full of purpose and love, whether their family includes children or not. Embracing this spectrum of choices could foster more supportive communities and lessen the stigma that child-free women face online and offline.

how do we not talk about this national park more!?
Ok ok, I know Olympic National Park is fairly well known, but the fact that it’s not in most people’s top three national park list is an absolute CRIME! Don’t get me wrong, I love Yellowstone and The Grand Canyon, but you will never get as much biodiversity in one place as Olympic National Park.
