Heart Eyes Review
Okay, so I just had to share my thoughts after watching 'Heart Eyes.' You know, sometimes you go into a movie hoping for a thrilling 'movie killer' experience, maybe even a fun 'valentine killer' horror flick, but this one... oh boy. My initial reaction, as you saw, was a pretty blunt 'one out of ten,' and honestly, after letting it sink in, I stand by it. From the get-go, the film felt incredibly *slow and corny*. The pacing was just off, making scenes that should have been tense feel drawn out and frankly, a bit boring. While the acting itself was *okay*, it couldn't save a script that seemed to stumble over itself. I mean, we're talking about a movie where the Heart Eyes Killer is stalking people, and yet, there's a serious lack of genuine suspense. These parts had potential to be chilling, but they often fell flat due to the overall execution. What really pulled me out of the experience, though, were some truly baffling character decisions. It was honestly *so dumb seeing Ally miss every shot trying to kill The Heart Eyes Killer*. Like, how many chances can one person get? And don't even get me started on the scene where *Ally and Jay try to kiss while being chased by The Heart Eyes Killer*. Seriously? In the middle of a life-or-death chase? It made it incredibly hard to take any of the impending danger seriously. It felt like a parody rather than a genuine thriller. The film culminates in a *killing spree at the drive-in theater*, which again, had potential for a grand, bloody finale. But even that felt... underwhelming. And the ending? Wow. To see Ally and Jay brutally kill David and Shaw then go on a date and get married right after all that chaos was such a jarring and unsatisfying conclusion. It left me scratching my head more than feeling any sense of resolution or shock. If you're searching for a really good 'movie killer' or 'valentine killer movie' to get your adrenaline pumping, 'Heart Eyes' might not be the one. It certainly doesn't fit into the 'fetish fun films' category if that's what you're curious about; the focus is very much on the killer's antics rather than any extensive sexual content, which some queries like 'heart eyes movie nude' might suggest. I didn't find any explicit scenes that would cater to that. Instead, it tries to be a slasher, but misses the mark on building tension and delivering a coherent, engaging plot. There are so many better options out there if you're looking for a genuinely scary or even entertainingly bad horror flick. This one just felt like a missed opportunity.
