And to think I almost didn’t keep digging 💔
I almost convinced myself that maybe I was just tired bc I’m a mom of multiple littles — and I spent a long time assuming everything I was feeling was just postpartum, motherhood, stress, or lack of sleep 😔
Maybe the brain fog was normal.
Maybe the fatigue was normal.
Maybe the inflammation was normal.
Maybe feeling “off” was just part of this season of life.
But deep down, I knew something wasn’t right.
So I kept asking questions.
I found a naturopathic provider who listened, ran more comprehensive testing, and helped me get answers. Finally 🥺
My results showed a definite diagnosis of Hashimoto’s (autoimmune thyroiditis), an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid. Where my thyroid is not producing the hormones my body needs to function optimally
And honestly? Getting the diagnosis wasn’t even the hard part… the hard part was feeling like something was wrong and not knowing why 😣
I’m sharing this bc I know so many women are told to ignore symptoms, push through exhaustion, or accept feeling less than their best
If something feels off, advocate for yourself!!
Ask questions.
Get a second (or third or fourth) opinion.
Find providers who listen.
Trust yourself.
No one knows your body better than you do 🤍
If you’ve ever been through something similar before (I’m sorry) but I’d love to hear your story below 🫶🏼 you’re never in this alone!
