💭 This book was definitely written for an older demographic of readers in mind. Which is absolutely awesome. So few books actually cater to a more mature audience. I absolutely loved it. Don’t get me wrong, I love my NA, and consume a ton of it. I also am a 39 year old woman who enjoys a good romance that has characters that I can relate to more emotionally as well. This book is cute, and definitely has some emotional angst. But still remains an overall feel good book with a more healthy type of relationship between the MCs (yes, even with the issues they have, it never really is toxic, which again is great to see). The FMC, Dixie, is a country singer trying to make it big, and Jack is a preacher in a small town. The whole opposites attract thing is definitely big in this book. This book is labeled spicy, and in a way, it is. But for me, I would label it more steamy. There is more spicy tension and adult language/themes/thoughts, but the actual spice is quick and it’s not very descriptive. So I will probably give it two spicy, but IMO the book leans more towards steamy. The book doesn’t drag, so I stayed pulled in really easily. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s definitely cute and cozy vibes. Especially with small town meddling that goes on!
