Fonts to Make Your Notes Fun!

Different styles + fonts incorporated in your notes allow you to take your notes to the next level ✨

Here is a list of 7 fonts you can use to add into your writing.

1. Soft - Bold

a bold version of your regular writing done with a thicker pen (.7mm -1.0mm)! Great to add when you need important information to stand out in your notes.

2. Times

Great to add for Titles and your important vocab.

3. Tall & Long

This font can be used all through note taking. This is a great eye-catcher for a full page of writing!

4. Neat & Fancy

Like cursive, this can be used for cuter, fancier notes. Of course, only when you have the time.

5. Caps Bold

This is for important information that you want highlighted in your notes. It catches your eye right to the information you need to know.

6. Stretched

A great spacer for note taking. This font gives the eyes a break when you’re skimming through notes you want to study. This can be used for anything in your notes.

7. Artsy

Another great title font. You can add this to the top of the page, or a title changer all throughout your notes! This one takes time, so make sure you use to where you can!

These fonts are easy to learn, don’t try to rush when you write them. These are made for creative writing and need to be done cautiously in order to look correct and different apart from your notes.

... Read moreI used to think note-taking was just about getting information down, but over time, I discovered a secret weapon: varying my handwriting styles! It's not just about making your notes look pretty; it actually helps your brain process and recall information more effectively. For me, switching up my 'fonts' has been a game-changer for staying engaged during lectures and making my revision sessions less daunting. One of the biggest benefits I've experienced is improved visual organization. When I use a distinctive 'Soft - Bold' style, perhaps with a thicker pen like a 0.7mm or 1.0mm, for main headings or critical definitions, my eyes instantly know where to focus. It's like creating visual anchors on the page. Similarly, for important vocabulary, I often turn to a classic 'Times' style. I find that the clear, serif-like structure, even when handwritten, makes those key terms stand out and easier to absorb, much like how print books use similar fonts for readability. For longer sections or general explanations, using a 'Tall & Long' style helps me maintain a consistent, neat flow across the lined paper. It makes a full page of notes less overwhelming and genuinely easier on the eyes, preventing that cluttered feeling. And for those moments when I want to add a personal touch or make a quote memorable, a 'Neat & Fancy' flowing, cursive-like script adds an elegant flair. Of course, I save this for when I have a little extra time and want my notes to feel special, not for frantic lecture scribbling! I also rely on 'Caps Bold' for information that absolutely must be highlighted. Think of it as a handwritten alert system! When skimming my notes, these uppercase letters with their thick, bold script immediately grab my attention. And for creating visual breaks between dense paragraphs, I find the 'Stretched' style, with its widely spaced, elongated letters, incredibly useful. It gives my eyes a moment to rest, which is surprisingly helpful when reviewing large amounts of material. Finally, for those creative titles or section breaks, the 'Artsy' decorative, block-like uppercase letters are perfect. It makes my notebook feel more like a personalized study guide. My biggest tip for incorporating these styles is to practice. Don't rush when you're first trying them out, especially if you're aiming for a specific look, like a precise 'Times new roman serif detail close up' for your vocab. Experiment with different pen tips and pressure on your lined paper or spiral notebook. Assign specific styles to specific functions—for example, always use 'Caps Bold' for definitions and 'Artsy' for main chapter titles. This consistency builds a system that your brain quickly recognizes, making your notes not just fun to look at, but genuinely more practical and effective for studying. It’s all about finding what works best for your learning style to transform your note-taking experience!
