My favorite stationery For note taking

I absolutely LOVE taking cute and aesthetic notes. Here are some of my favorite go-to stationery items I carry with me at all times:

🖊️ Muji Gel Pens

My absolute favorite pens to take with me anywhere! Not only are they aesthetic on the outside, they are very cheap and write extraordinarily smooth!

⚡️Mr. Pen Highlighters

These are some of the most aesthetic highlighter colors I’ve ever used. I love the shape because they don’t roll off the table ;)

🗒️ sticky notes!

These are great for side-notes you want to add when there’s no room left on your note taking page. Aesthetic ones are important because they contribute to the beauty of your notes.

🖋️ Writech Colored Gel Pens

Color is a nice touch to noutes. Writech has some of my favorite colored pens. They are smooth, thick, aesthetic and do not bleed through paper :)

📎 paper clips

Stay organized! Paperclips are a great way to clip subjects together in your notebook. It’s also easier to find your notes when you need them the most. Use up all the paper clips you need!

✏️ mechanical pencil

Pens make your notes aesthetic, but you can mess up easily. When you’re in a rush, use a pencil so you can rewrite and erase your notes when needed.

These are things I carry with me at all times. You can start too ;)

... Read moreHey fellow note-takers! Since you loved my go-to stationery essentials, I wanted to dive a little deeper into how I use them and share some extra tips to truly elevate your note-taking game. It’s not just about having pretty supplies; it’s about using them strategically to make your study sessions more effective and enjoyable. Let’s talk pens first. My Muji Gel Pens, especially in the .3mm to .38mm tip sizes I often choose, are fantastic for detailed writing and adding intricate designs. For headings or emphasizing key points, I sometimes switch to a slightly thicker tip or use my Writech Colored Gel Pens. These vibrant pens aren't just for decoration; I love using different colors to create a visual hierarchy in my notes. For instance, blue for definitions, green for examples, and pink for important formulas. This color-coding system makes information much easier to recall during revision. Plus, knowing they won’t bleed through means I can use both sides of the paper confidently! Highlighters are another game-changer. Mr. Pen Highlighters are my current favorites, not just for their aesthetic pastel colors but because their flat shape keeps them from rolling off my desk – a small detail that makes a big difference when I'm in the zone! Instead of just highlighting entire sentences, try highlighting only keywords or phrases. This forces you to engage with the material and creates a quick visual scan for review. You can also use a light pastel highlighter to underscore important points rather than covering them completely, keeping your notes clean. Sticky notes are incredibly versatile. I mentioned using them for side notes, but they're also amazing for active recall. After reading a section, I'll write down key questions on a sticky note and try to answer them without looking at my main notes. The aesthetic brown sticky notes are lovely for a cohesive look. I also use grid sticky notes for small diagrams or flowcharts I don't want to squeeze into my main text. They're perfect for adding temporary thoughts or follow-up questions without cluttering your main notes. And let's not forget the unsung heroes: paper clips and mechanical pencils. While pens make notes aesthetic, a good mechanical pencil is essential for drafting ideas or working through problems where mistakes are inevitable. It allows you to erase cleanly and rewrite without a mess, especially when you're in a rush. Plus, using a pencil first helps you plan out your note layout before committing to ink. Paper clips are brilliant for keeping related sections or handouts together. I use different colored paper clips to categorize subjects within a larger notebook, making it super easy to find exactly what I need. Seeing "paperclips!" in my stash always reminds me to stay organized. To truly achieve that "aesthetic notes design" look, consider your overall theme. If you're going for "aesthetic brown notes," stick to warm tones for your highlighters and pens. Experiment with different layouts – bullet journaling elements can inspire beautiful, structured notes. Good handwriting, while not mandatory, definitely adds to the aesthetic appeal. Practice can make a big difference! Finally, remember that investing in quality stationery, like Muji or Writech, often means they last longer and perform better. But you don't need to break the bank! Many brands offer great alternatives. The key is to find what works best for your study style and makes you excited to learn. Happy note-taking!
