Saved post!

2024/12/19 Edited to

... Read moreIt’s so easy to hit that 'save' button, isn't it? One minute you’re scrolling, the next you’ve got hundreds of saved posts, and half of them you can’t even remember why you saved them! I used to be the queen of digital clutter, with a saved tab that looked like a black hole. I’d save everything from a gorgeous 'Make up' tutorial to a must-have 'Buy this' product, and then when I actually needed to find it, poof – gone! That’s when I realized I needed a system. Just like the original post mentioned, categories are an absolute lifesaver. But how do you really make them work for you? I’ve experimented a lot, and here are my top tips for turning your saved posts into a beautifully organized, useful resource. First, think about the purpose of what you’re saving. Is it for inspiration, future purchases, learning, or just a quick laugh? This helps you define your main category buckets. For instance, my 'Buy this' category is for things I genuinely want to purchase later, while 'Make up' is for beauty tips I want to try. I also have a 'School' category for study hacks and notes, and a 'Business' one for professional development content. And for general life improvement, 'Productivity' is my go-to for all those time-saving tips. Once you have your core categories, don't be afraid to get specific. If 'Make up' gets too big, maybe subdivide it into 'Eye Makeup,' 'Skincare Routines,' or 'Product Reviews.' The key is to make it intuitive for *you*. Another game-changer for me was a consistent naming convention. When I save something, I quickly rename it (if the platform allows) or add a specific tag that includes both the topic and maybe the action I want to take. For example, instead of just 'Recipe,' I might tag it 'Dinner: Quick Chicken' or 'Dessert: Birthday Cake Idea.' This makes searching within categories even faster. And here’s a tip I wish I’d known sooner: schedule regular ‘saved post purges.’ Just like decluttering your closet, your digital saves need a clean-out. Once a month, I’ll spend 15-20 minutes going through a category. If I saved a trendy 'Buy this' item six months ago and no longer want it, it gets deleted. If a 'Productivity' hack just didn't work for me, out it goes! This prevents your categories from becoming new black holes themselves. Finally, don't forget to leverage any built-in features your platform offers. Lemon8's category system is fantastic for this! If you’re on other platforms, look for collections, boards, or even just using specific hashtags in your private notes when you save. The goal is to make your saved posts a valuable library, not just a digital junk drawer. What are your favorite categories to use? I'm always looking for new ideas to keep my digital life tidy!

A person's back shows long, light-colored damaged hair, with an inset close-up revealing severe thinning and breakage on the scalp. The image highlights the impact of 6 years of bleaching, hair extension damage, and diabetic hair thinning and loss.
This image explains how avoiding heat helps hair recovery. High temperatures alter hair's protein structure, convert α-keratin to β-keratin, weaken hair, open cuticles, and strip natural moisture and oils, leading to dryness and damage.
The image illustrates the benefits of using a shower filter for hair health. It removes contaminants like chlorine, lead, and heavy metals that can damage hair, making it rough and dry, and supports a healthy scalp for growth and shine.
How I saved my damaged hair
I absolutely destroyed my hair. I used to bleach my hair every 8 weeks for about 6 years and being a type 1 diabetic (I was newly diagnosed and had uncontrolled blood sugar in the beginning) led to my hair having constant breakage, thinning, never growing, and feeling like straw. I thought the cau
