Don’t Squeeze Your Pimples I know it’s tempting to pop those big pimples, but squeezing can lead to bacterial infections, more inflammation, and even scarring. Avoid squeezing, especially when dealing with stubborn ones.

Use Acne Creams with Powerful Ingredients Look for acne creams with ingredients like salicylic acid, benzalkonium chloride, or benzoyl peroxide. These help with inflammation, speed up healing, and cleanse your pores. I recommend using these at night, and make sure to wash your face thoroughly in the morning without makeup to avoid irritation.

Pimple Patches Are Your Best Friend If your pimple is oozing or has some localized inflammation, pimple patches are a great option! The salicylic acid in these patches helps heal acne faster, while also reducing friction and preventing bacterial infection. Their ultra-thin design quickly absorbs pus, keeping the skin clean, and they’re barely noticeable, making them perfect for daytime use. Plus, with hyaluronic acid, they provide moisture to the pimple area, keeping your skin hydrated while helping with inflammation.

First off, let's talk more about the magic of pimple patches. While the original article touched on them, my experience has shown me there's more to know. From what I’ve learned, there are generally two types: hydrocolloid (non-medicated) and medicated (often with salicylic acid). The hydrocolloid ones are fantastic for sucking out all those absorbed secretions from a whitehead, making them look like a tiny, white-filled hydrocolloid patch once removed. It’s incredibly satisfying! For an inflamed pimple, especially a red pimple on my cheek, I've seen amazing before-and-after results, with the area appearing much clearer and less inflamed after just one or two uses. The medicated ones, often containing salicylic acid as highlighted in some product descriptions, are great for deeper, active breakouts, helping to reduce redness and swelling. When applying, ensure your skin is clean and dry—no moisturizers or serums directly underneath the patch. Just press it gently over the spot.
