why I stopped gossiping

I used to gossip sooo much with my girlfriends because it made me feel better about myself in a lot of ways. but I never realized just how powerful my language was and how much I was creating a negative world for myself. don’t get me wrong, talk therapy is great and it’s important to talk about things that effect us, but there’s a line between venting and creating more negativity.

... Read moreAfter reading this, I felt such a strong connection to this journey. It's so true how easily we can fall into the trap of gossiping, thinking it's just harmless banter or a way to bond. I used to be right there with you, believing that sharing stories about others made me feel better or more connected to my friends. But, like the author, I started noticing a subtle shift in my own mindset and the energy around me. It truly hit me: we create our reality with language. This isn't just a spiritual concept; it's a powerful psychological truth. When we constantly engage in conversations focused on what's wrong with others or what dramas are unfolding, we're essentially programming our own minds. Our brains are incredibly adept at pattern recognition, and if the pattern we feed it is negativity, it will seek out and expect more of it. I realized that my words were creating a negative reality not just for those I was talking about, but for *me*. Every time I engaged in gossip, I felt a slight drain, a subtle sense of unease, even if it felt momentarily satisfying. It was like I was training others to validate negative realities and, in turn, validating them myself. This cycle can be incredibly hard to break because it often feels like a shared experience, a way to connect. This realization became even more profound when I thought about the people closest to me. Even casual chats with my partner about someone else’s drama, which felt like just 'venting' or 'sharing,' were still shaping our shared space. It wasn't about him, or about the person we were discussing; it was about the energetic footprint we were creating together. I started asking myself: Is this conversation uplifting? Is it productive? Or is it gossiping that creates a negative reality, even in the most intimate of settings? It’s a fine line between needing to process a situation with a trusted friend and simply dwelling in negativity. I learned to distinguish between genuinely seeking support or advice, and just engaging in idle chatter that ultimately pulls everyone down. So, what helped me shift? First, it was becoming super mindful of my own thoughts before they even became words. If I caught myself thinking something judgmental or critical, I'd pause and try to reframe it, or simply let it go. Second, I started actively redirecting conversations. Instead of joining in when gossip started, I'd gently change the subject, ask about something positive, or express empathy without fueling the fire. It wasn't always easy, and sometimes it felt awkward, but the peace it brought was immense. I noticed that the more I chose positive language, the more positive experiences and insights seemed to flow into my life. It's an ongoing practice, but truly believing that words create reality has been a game-changer. It's about taking responsibility for the energy you bring into every interaction. This shift has been a crucial part of my personal healing journey, helping me cultivate a more positive and empowering environment for myself and those around me. It’s amazing how much lighter and more authentic life feels when you consciously choose to uplift rather than tear down.

first of all i’m so proud of you because it seems like in todays society if you’re not talking shit you don’t fit in and that’s something i def used to struggle w/ & still do but once you change the environment you’re in and set boundaries for yourself you feel so free and allow room to meet genuine good people!

it definitely starts with you, i noticed that once i didn’t want to participate in gossip i soon stopped getting invited to events by people that were the main ones who had that as their main topics of conversation, i will say life is definitely a lot more peaceful now, i enjoy uplifting others & creating safe spaces🥰

Why I stopped pixie diffusing my wavy/curly hair✨
Pixie diffusing works wonders for extra volume, however it frequently caused my hair to dry wonky the closer it got to my root. This is especially true for my bottom layers as they tend to dry in a looser pattern and don’t want to “curl” up into the diffuser (this is totally normally to have multip
