Books I’ve read in April! So far! NO SPOILERS

So currently I’ve read 4 books this month! & I’m just getting into reading and deciding which genre of books that I like. And so far the psychological thrillers have me in a choke hold the romances ones are okay but idk.

So let’s rate the ones that I’ve read.

#1. Never lie! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

I finished this Saturday night and let me say! I thought I had it figured out!!! Like I thought I knew so bad that I was getting annoyed! 😂 but babyyyyyy I was wrongggggg way wrong!

#2. Ugly Love. 3.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I know this isn’t a thriller.

But I heard go things and I wanted to try ugly love. It was okayyyyy, some good moments but idk I was waiting on a bigger plot twist or something more, I felt like it was missing something. But I love miles!!

#3. The Housemaid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a great book and I’m going to read the sequel BUT the characters were pissing me off so bad the entire book!😂😂😂 but the plot at the end had my mouth on the ground! Loved it!

#4. The Teacher ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Idk if I should have read this one first but I LOVED every single thing about this book! Now don’t get me wrong I was severely disgusted while reading this, but man the plot twist is what reeled me in! My favorite Frieda book so far!

I’m reading the inmate now and then the coworker next!

What other thriller books or authors should I read??!! Tell me!!!!!!

... Read moreYou know how I mentioned I’m deep into psychological thrillers and always looking for the next great read? So many of you have shared amazing suggestions, and I've been doing my own digging too! One title that keeps popping up on my radar, especially when I'm browsing genres like mystery and thriller on Goodreads, is 'The Last Thing He Told Me' by Laura Dave. It sounds absolutely captivating and right up the alley for anyone who loved the twists in 'Never Lie!' or the intense suspense of 'The Housemaid.' I mean, after being utterly gripped by Freida McFadden's writing, like 'The Teacher' with its wild plot twists that just left my mouth on the ground, I'm definitely in the mood for another story that keeps me guessing. 'The Last Thing He Told Me' seems to fit that bill perfectly. The premise itself is enough to hook you: a woman's husband disappears, leaving behind a cryptic note that simply says, 'Protect her,' referring to his teenage daughter who wants nothing to do with her new stepmother. Suddenly, Hannah, the protagonist, is thrust into a world of secrets, trying to uncover the truth about her husband's past while protecting his daughter from unknown threats. That kind of high-stakes mystery, with a strong female protagonist unraveling a complex puzzle, is exactly what I crave in a thriller. It’s not just a whodunit; it’s a deep dive into identity, trust, and the lengths people go to for love and family. From what I've gathered from other readers on Goodreads, it’s a masterclass in building suspense without resorting to cheap thrills. It's more of a slow burn, peeling back layers of deception, which I appreciate after some of the more intense, rapid-fire plot twists I've read. The way it explores family dynamics and what we truly know about the people closest to us sounds really compelling. It reminds me of the underlying tension in 'The Housemaid,' where even relationships you think are stable can be hiding so much. You feel that constant unease, wondering who to trust, much like how I felt trying to figure out 'Never Lie!' where I thought I had it all figured out, only to be completely wrong! Knowing that it’s categorized firmly in the mystery-thriller genre on Goodreads gives me a good idea of what to expect – those cleverly placed clues, the red herrings, and the ultimate revelation that ties everything together. After the rollercoaster of emotions with 'Ugly Love,' where I was looking for a bigger plot twist, 'The Last Thing He Told Me' seems like it could deliver on that desire for a truly impactful reveal. It promises a journey filled with introspection and danger, making you question everything until the very last page. The kind of book where you’re just itching to turn to the next chapter, even when you should be sleeping! I'm really excited to add this to my TBR pile, especially as I continue to explore the vast world of psychological thrillers. If you've read it, I'd love to hear your spoiler-free thoughts! And as always, keep those thriller recommendations coming. What other authors deliver those fantastic plot twists and gripping narratives like Freida McFadden or keep you guessing like Laura Dave seems to do? I'm always on the hunt for my next five-star read!
