I changed my SIBO supplements

My biggest concern…

was stopping my SIBO tincture and my mental health declining rapidly.

Previously when I had to retest my SIBO, I had to come off all of my supplements, and within 24-48 hours I was experiencing a significant decline in my mental health.

I started new supplements on November 25 and I stopped the tincture on December 5th. I have not experienced any decline in my mental health and it’s been 4 days🥹 I do believe the new supplements I started help combat the effects of the tincture. Currently I do plan to stay on my new supplements.

I also got an email yesterday saying my parasite cleanse would be shipped either today or tomorrow which is a lot sooner than I expected to start, but I am happy that I get to start before the new year.

I haven’t decided on what type of diet exactly I will be following so when I decide, I will definitely keep you updated.

I’m definitely leaning towards very heavy meat but I’m also trying to figure out what types of meat (since I eat my steak, medium, and parasites live in raw meat, I wanna make sure I’m not adding any parasites to my diet while I’m trying to cleanse).

I also want to set myself up for success over the next couple of months and eating an entire carnivore diet I don’t think is realistic for me. So I’m going to figure out what amount of carbs are allowed and which types.

I do think I may fully eliminate fruit since parasites feed off of sugar, but TBD.

I’ll be doing more research on different diets people have seen success with and I will definitely let you know what I decide on!

Overall, my physical body feels great and so does my mental health and I’m excited to see how I feel in a couple of months 😇

... Read moreIt's incredible how much SIBO can impact not just your gut, but your entire well-being. Before I really started getting a handle on things, those feelings of anxiety and a heavy, depressive mood were almost constant whenever my SIBO flared or I tried to adjust my protocol. I remember those past times having to come off all my supplements for retesting, and truly, within 48 hours, my mental health would just *tank*. My mood was very, very bad, and I felt the depression setting in so quickly. It's why this current experience of feeling great after stopping my SIBO tincture feels like such a huge victory! Beyond the mental aspect, I also noticed so many other frustrating symptoms before my SIBO journey truly began. My 'sibo belly' was a constant issue – bloating, distension, feeling uncomfortable after almost every meal. And honestly, my skin often suffered too; I'd get these breakouts, almost like 'sibo acne' around my chin and jawline. Looking back at 'sibo before and after' photos of myself, the changes are quite striking not just in my belly but also in my complexion. It's a testament to how interconnected our bodies are. When it comes to supplements, it can be a maze! I've spent so much time researching and discussing with my practitioner. While I'm on my specific new supplements now, I've definitely come across a lot of discussions in SIBO communities about different approaches. For instance, many people talk about comprehensive plans like a 'Metagenics SIBO protocol,' which often involves specific antimicrobial herbs and gut support. I've also learned about the importance of gut lining support, with ingredients like 'probutyrate' often mentioned to help heal the intestinal barrier. And for those struggling with fat digestion, I've heard 'cholacol benefits' bile flow, which can be a game-changer for some. It’s all about finding what resonates with your body and your doctor's guidance. The diet aspect is another huge piece of the puzzle. As I mentioned, I'm exploring my options for this upcoming parasite cleanse. The idea of a 'carnivore for SIBO' approach is really intriguing to me because of its highly restrictive nature, which can starve out overgrowths. However, ensuring I'm getting enough nutrients and avoiding potential new parasites (especially with my love for medium-rare steak!) is a big consideration. I'm also really trying to figure out the right balance of carbs that work for me – I know some find success with specific carbohydrate diets, while others can tolerate certain complex carbs. And yes, cutting out fruit, purely because parasites feed off sugar, seems like a logical step for now, but I'm keeping an open mind as I research more. It's a continuous learning process, but feeling 'on top of the world' and having good mental health, with my physical body feeling great, makes all the effort worthwhile. Being back to refined sugar-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free really helps too. I'm excited to share more of my journey and what I discover about diet and gut healing!
