I believe there is goodness in everyone

There are many reasons why we can sometimes be unkind. We may not know what to do, how to react, be having a bad day, skeptical and wary, or simply afraid. Of course, there are times when people simply do not care or adopt a none of my business attitude. These are all very human reasons.

But I hope we all make the world a better place than before we found it. And I hope our children grow up in a kinder and more understanding place than we lived in.

Of course, there are those who prey on kindness and take advantage of it. And in today's world, it pays to be cautious. So I'm not saying kindness should be blind but I think it is worth thinking how we can be kind to someone in need, while also protecting ourselves.

Because if everyone is indifferent, and serves no one other than themselves, it will be such an awful place to live in. And one day, maybe you will need a little kindness. So don't extinguish that flame, lets keep it burning in our small little ways.

... Read moreEncountering someone in need, like the elderly man asking for water, challenges us to act despite our fears or doubts. In a world where many people might ignore such pleas due to skepticism or being caught up in their own lives, choosing kindness is a powerful statement of our shared humanity. From my own experiences, small gestures—offering water, a smile, or a moment of attention—can make a significant difference to someone who feels invisible or neglected. It's natural to question motives and worry about scams, yet acts driven by genuine compassion often cost little but yield immense value. Balancing kindness with caution means listening to our inner voice and assessing each situation carefully. Protecting ourselves doesn’t exclude caring for others; rather, it encourages thoughtful generosity. For example, providing essential help without overextending or compromising personal safety allows kindness to flourish sustainably. I’ve noticed that children learn kindness best when they witness it in their everyday environment. When we act with empathy and concern, we set a powerful example for the next generation. Our world truly can become a kinder place if we collectively keep that flame of compassion alive in these small, consistent ways. It’s important to remember that even people who may seem selfish or indifferent have the capacity for kindness—they might just need a nudge or moment of inspiration. Reflecting on these moments deepens our understanding of human complexity and encourages us to approach others with patience and hope. Ultimately, kindness is a choice we make repeatedly. When we answer its call, we contribute toward a world that’s not just bearable but better for everyone. So when faced with opportunities to help, big or small, I urge you to trust that your actions matter and that goodness resides in all of us, waiting to be expressed.

Strange are the ways of a believer — for there is good in every affair of his. 🤍
