Life as an adult with ADHD

1. It’s not just about the paying attention to the task’s or the work that was put out there for you , but the part you get super overwhelmed by everything and everyone. You feel like you wanna hide or take a break but you also wanna prove people/ family/ co workers that you can do it.

2. Nobody believes you have ADHD or they make a joke about it. It’s especially it’s hard to discuss it with someone when everybody and they mama claim to have ADHD 🤦🏾‍♀️

3. Being a parent with ADHD is like have 50 heads! You wanna do this for them and that , making sure everything is going great for them but you also just wanna lay down in your room by yourself but you feel bad for being in your ADHD blues 😕

4. Working especially a task job is war!!! You’re brain wanna do this and that but the other side of your brain wanna be lazy or look 👀 outside or talk to everybody

All I wanna say is it’s ok you got this , it’s hard out there for a pimp but just keep telling yourself you are a great person, parent , partner and worker.YOU CAN DO IT!!!

... Read moreLiving with ADHD as an adult can present numerous challenges that aren't well understood by others. Many might not take ADHD seriously, treating it as a mere joke rather than a legitimate struggle. This misunderstanding can amplify feelings of isolation and frustration. For parents with ADHD, the feeling of juggling multiple responsibilities can be overwhelming. There’s a desire to participate fully in your children's lives while simultaneously wrestling with the fatigue and emotional burden ADHD can bring. The constant push and pull can lead to feelings of guilt for needing downtime, particularly when children are involved. Professionally, the workplace can feel like a battle. Adults with ADHD often find it challenging to focus on tasks amidst distractions, which is further complicated by an inherent curiosity that drives them to engage with everything happening around them. This push-pull dynamic can lead to a perception of laziness or lack of commitment, which is far from the truth. Despite these challenges, it's essential to recognize the strengths that come with ADHD, such as creativity, resilience, and the ability to think outside the box. With effective coping strategies, support networks, and self-advocacy, adults with ADHD can thrive both personally and professionally. It's crucial to understand that you're not alone in this journey, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
