Common signs in women include difficulty sustaining attention, feeling overwhelmed by routine tasks, and experiencing impulsivity or restlessness. I found that writing down specific examples of my behavior helped my psychiatrist understand my experiences better. It's also vital to understand that ADHD is a spectrum, and not everyone fits the classic hyperactive stereotype. Adults, especially women, may have predominantly inattentive presentations, which are frequently overlooked. These communities often share personal stories, tips for organization, and self-care routines. Furthermore, incorporating a daily routine that includes mindfulness and planning tools has been beneficial. If you have ADHD you may be familiar with forgetting to eat or not remembering to plan meals until it’s too late. Some last minute meals are excellent and provide me with what I need. Most are not. Here are my ratings for my recent “Oh sh!t I forgot to eat” low effort meals for people with ADHD.
