Right of passage

2025/1/4 Edited to

... Read moreWhen I first started playing Phasmophobia on my first day, just like that meme about lighting the circle from the van, I quickly learned that 'storing' items isn't always obvious! It's not like other games where you have an endless backpack. In Phasmophobia, managing your gear is crucial, and it's a right of passage to figure out what to bring and what to leave behind, or how to use the van effectively. Let's talk about 'storing' in two main ways: your personal inventory and the van itself. Your personal inventory is super limited – you only have a few slots. As a newbie, I quickly realized I couldn't just grab everything. I learned to prioritize: a strong flashlight is a must, then maybe an EMF reader, a spirit box, and a thermometer. These are your bread and butter for finding evidence. Trying to 'store' too much on your person will just slow you down and leave essential tools behind. The van, our trusty mobile base, acts as your main 'storage hub' before and during a hunt. All the equipment you buy before a contract starts is 'stored' in the van. You can see it neatly laid out on the shelves or in the back. This is where you grab items, swap them out, and mentally 'store' what you've got for the mission. My level 40 teammates would always laugh when I'd try to do something from the van that clearly required me to be inside – like trying to 'light the circle' from a distance! You can't activate items or gather evidence from the safety of the truck; you have to physically carry them in. Another aspect of 'storing' is dropping items. Sometimes you need to free up a hand for a specific interaction, or you've found evidence and want to drop your flashlight to pick up a camera. Just remember where you leave things! I've lost count of how many times I've dropped a camera in a dark room, only to spend agonizing minutes trying to find it again. It's a temporary 'storage' solution, but it requires memory! So, for all my fellow Phasmophobia new players, understanding 'storing' isn't just about inventory slots. It's about strategic thinking: what to store in your pockets, what to leave in the van for later, and most importantly, what knowledge to 'store' in your head about what you can and can't do from the van. Don't be like me trying to light a summoning circle from the driver's seat – learn from experience and make every item count!
