Shy gym girls, this one’s for you. 💪🏽💕
Switched up my running app and realizing how far I’ve really come in the gym. There was a time I wouldn’t leave the workout room or touch anything heavier than dumbbells.
If you’re shy, intimidated, or still finding your confidence — keep going. It gets easier with time and reps.
Which running app do y’all prefer: Runna or Nike Run Club?
As someone who started out feeling incredibly shy and self-conscious in the gym, I completely relate to the journey from hiding in the corners to confidently owning the space. Initially, I avoided heavy weights and stayed close to what felt safe, like dumbbells, but with persistence and patience, my comfort zone expanded. Consistency is truly the key. When I committed to showing up regularly, the side eyes and initial intimidation faded. The more reps you do, the more natural everything becomes—not just the exercises but also your mindset. It’s a gradual process, but every step forward builds confidence. On the topic of running apps, I’ve tried both Runna and Nike Run Club. Runna has a clean interface and feels less competitive, which can be great for beginners who want to focus on pace and progress without pressure. Nike Run Club, meanwhile, offers a motivational community and challenges that can push you just the right amount when you’re ready to level up. For other shy gym girls, remember: it’s okay to start small. Celebrate your progress no matter how incremental it feels. Building glutes, pushing through a tough set, or even just walking into the gym are all wins. Over time, you’ll move from just showing up to truly thriving, and your confidence will shine through. If you ever feel overwhelmed, try to connect with supportive groups or hashtags like #shygirlworkout or #lemon8fitness for community encouragement. Trust me, many have been where you are and have come out stronger—both in body and mindset.
