Do you spend money on in-app purchases? 🤔💰

At several points in my life, I’ve spent money on in-app purchases for games, some of which I regret. 😳

Nowadays I try to be pretty careful because those little purchases can add up quick. 💸

Do you spend money on in-app micro transactions? Or do you keep the money in the bank and wait 32 hours for some free gems 💎 😤

#moneyhabits #lemon8challenge #AskLemon8 #phonegames #pokemongo

1/16 Edited to

... Read moreI’ve definitely been there—making small in-app purchases on games to enhance my experience or speed up progress, only to later feel regret when I noticed my spending had quietly added up. One key thing I learned is that these microtransactions are designed to be tempting, often offering limited-time deals or exclusive items that make you feel like missing out. To keep my spending in check, I now set a monthly budget specifically for gaming purchases. If I reach that limit, I stop buying until the next cycle. This approach helps me enjoy the games without financial guilt. I also favor games that reward patience, like waiting for free gems or bonuses, rather than feel pressured to purchase immediately. Another helpful tip is to research the game’s in-app economy beforehand. Some games flood players with enough opportunities to earn items without paying, while others can be pay-to-win. Understanding this can guide whether it’s worth spending money or just playing casually. Sharing experiences with friends or online communities often helps too. When others share how they manage their money or which games offer fair gameplay without constant upsells, it’s easier to make informed decisions. Ultimately, the goal is to enjoy the game without feeling stressed about spending—being mindful and patient really makes a difference.
