4 Days in Croatia ✨

Where to stay? 🏨

I highly recommend staying in Old Town Dubrovnik.

I stayed inside the City Walls — the location was super convenient, just steps from the main street (Stradun), historic landmarks, and cozy wine bars. Perfect for a short city trip to catch the festive winter lights 🎉

... Read moreIf you're planning a 4-day trip to Croatia, it's worth considering renting a car for maximum flexibility, especially if you're keen on exploring beyond Dubrovnik. On day 1, staying inside the Dubrovnik City Walls puts you in the heart of the action — I found it incredibly convenient to pop out for coffee or stroll the Stradun at any time. The festive winter lights truly enhance the charm of the old town if you visit during the colder months. For day 2, a drive to Split and Trogir offers a fascinating dive into Croatia's rich history. Diocletian's Palace in Split is a must-see; immersing yourself in its ancient courtyards and alleyways can take a good part of your day. Nearby Trogir is a smaller, less crowded gem with a beautifully preserved old town that feels like a step back in time. Day 3 is perfect for nature lovers—Plitvice Lakes National Park is breathtaking. The park's system of wooden walkways allows you to enjoy the lush scenery and cascading waterfalls up close. I especially recommend the panoramic train and boat ride included in the entry ticket, which offer different perspectives of the park’s beauty. To save money, I always check flight deals ahead and use booking promotions for accommodation. The links shared help find affordable flights and hotels in Croatia, which can greatly reduce costs. Planning the trip during the off-season can also mean less crowded sites and better prices. Don’t forget to try local wines in Dubrovnik’s cozy wine bars to savor authentic Croatian flavors. Overall, Croatia packs a diverse set of experiences in a compact area, making a 4-day itinerary both feasible and rewarding. Just remember to pace yourself and soak up each place with relaxed curiosity.
