For white rice, it's typically a 1.5:1 ratio and cooks in about 15-20 minutes. A little trick I learned is to let it sit, covered, for 10 minutes after cooking off the heat – it makes it super fluffy! Next up, the black beans. You can use canned or dried, but I find seasoning them properly makes all the difference. If using canned, rinse them well.
