Well… I challenged myself to walk 30 steps without my walker today, and it ended up being a lot easier than I expected.

So… I may have gotten a little too confident. 😅

Tomorrow I’m attempting 50 steps.

Five years ago, I couldn’t walk at all, so even making it this far is something I never thought I’d be able to say.

Let’s see if I just humbled myself by raising the goal… or if I can actually do it. 👀

Come back tomorrow to find out. ❤️#walkingchallege #mobilitytraining #genatew

... Read moreOver the years, regaining mobility can feel overwhelming, but setting achievable daily goals makes a significant difference. I found that starting with 30 steps without my walker was not only a physical challenge but also a mental boost. It proved that consistency and patience lead to progress even when it feels slow. In my experience, incorporating small increments like increasing the step count gradually helps build confidence and reduces the risk of injury or fatigue. Using mobility aids initially provides safety, but pushing gently beyond comfort zones slowly restores independence. Each session offers insight into my body’s limits and capabilities. Sharing this personal challenge encourages others facing similar mobility difficulties to set realistic goals and celebrate small victories. Walking challenges, such as mine tagged #walkingchallenge and #mobilitytraining, create a supportive community where progress, setbacks, and motivation are shared honestly. If you’re on a recovery journey, remember that improvement is a process that requires both dedication and self-compassion. Celebrate each step forward, no matter how small; these milestones symbolize strength and perseverance forged through effort and determination.

I was the kind of person who’d say “sorry” when YOU bumped into me. I apologized for existing, for speaking, for having needs, even for feeling emotions. It wasn’t until someone close to me pointed it out: “You know you say sorry like, 10 times a conversation, right?” that I really started noticing
