4 things that ruined my hormones
I recently got diagnosed with PCOS & I’ve been trying to get to my root cause!
there’s a few things I used to do all the time back in college that contributed to my hormone imbalances 🥺
chronic stress: stress was an issue for me in college & also now! I struggle with keeping my nervous system balanced & not going into fight or flight! When this happens stress hormones are released & if this happens too much or too often, these stress hormones are hard on our body & disrupt other hormones.
Coffee on an empty stomach: caffeine on an empty stomach is really hard on your body! It spikes your cortisol & hurts your gut health. Eating breakfast first before any caffeine is key!!☕️
Eating fast food + high refined sugar: fast food & refined sugar contribute to inflammation which disrupts your gut health & hormones. Try eating more whole foods and eating out less! Instead of refined sugar, eat more fruit 🍎
a lot of antibiotic use: I had bacterial vaginosis for 3 years straight end I took a lot of antibiotics to treat it. All the antibiotics left my gut health in rough shape because antibiotics kill your good gut bacteria a long with the infection. Gut health is connected to hormone health! I figure that’s where a lot of my imbalances stem from.
I’ve worked hard to undo these habits for better hormone health 🤍 can anyone else relate?🥺

There’s absolutely no reason why you should be taking antibiotics long term. You take them in full when they are prescribed to you and that’s all. If you’re being prescribed them very frequently it’s not a good sign
