Making a list of things I want to relive when I’m older 😭 looking out for myself #fyp #lalaland #2026
As we navigate life, it’s natural to think ahead about what moments we want to cherish again or remember fondly. Making a list of experiences to relive can serve as a powerful reminder to focus on joy and self-care. From personal experience, writing down what truly matters helps in setting priorities, especially as we anticipate the changes aging may bring. In addition, addressing future challenges such as dementia or Alzheimer's is deeply emotional but essential. Preparing letters or playlists 'for your mom when I get dementia or Alzheimer's'—as seen in the heartfelt message—can provide comfort and connection even in difficult times. My own family found that having familiar music and notes of love played a crucial role in maintaining bonds during illness. Looking after oneself means more than physical health; it’s about nurturing mental and emotional well-being. Creating plans to revisit joyful memories, listening to favorite songs, or sharing stories with loved ones can enrich our later years significantly. It’s a conscious effort to ensure that, no matter what the future holds, moments of happiness and self-care are always within reach. In my journey, I’ve learned that openly discussing aging and memory loss with family members helps in creating supportive environments. Small acts like preparing reminders or creating personalized messages can ease the emotional weight and foster understanding. This proactive approach aligns beautifully with the idea of looking out for ourselves while celebrating life’s precious memories.
